How Ask Oli works
Ask Oli is not the scribe. The scribe drafts the note. Ask Oli is optional lookup of published criteria while the draft is open. Claude distills a de-identified topic. Perplexity searches and synthesises the answer. Identifiers are not sent. You get citations and concrete steps to check — not a diagnosis, and not text pasted into the note. We do not claim TGA approval.
For a doctor in training, Reflect then a written CPD reflection is the learning loop. The helper stays in the panel. The note stays yours.
Ask Oli is not the note
Lookup stays in this panel. You apply the published criteria. Answers are not a diagnosis, are not written into the note, and are not a substitute for your judgement.
1
Ask in the consult
Type a question while the draft is open. Concepts already in the note help resolve what you mean. Free text is distilled to a de-identified topic before anything leaves the server.
2
Read the published basis
The answer is general published guidance with citations and a How to check this list — named measurements and thresholds for you to apply. Recommendations without a checkable basis are withheld.
3
Keep files on this device
You can keep a tracing or document beside the answer so you can apply the criteria yourself. The file is not uploaded and is not written into the note.

Dosing reference
Published dosing criteria where your consult jurisdiction allows it. You remain responsible for the dose you choose.
Patient handouts
Published education material you can review before you share anything with a patient.
Referrals
A contact directory for services — verify details before you rely on them.
Published guidance to support your decisions — not a diagnosis or signed report. It does not replace your clinical judgement; you remain responsible for patient care.
Lookups can be entered in your How the CPD record works.
