Clear answers before your first consult
Practical questions about starting, documenting, consent, and OLI’s boundaries. For troubleshooting, see Help centre or use Help chat when logged in.
Product
Intelligent Consult is an ambient AI scribe for clinicians, built to listen in the consult and to take dictation after. OLI captures audio (at the desk, in the room, on a call, on the phone, on a watch, or you speaking the note yourself), drafts structured notes from your template, and waits for you to review and finalise. Audio only — never video. Desktop (Mac and Windows) is home — listen in the room or on a call. Phone is the room recorder. Watch is recorder-only. Web is the fallback console when you cannot install. Same account, same drafts.
Yes. That is an intended use, not a workaround. Press Transcribe and speak the note, letter, or summary yourself — same engine, same template, same draft you review. You are the speaker. You still attest that you are allowed to record. This is not live cursor dictation; it is the same audio path as a consult.
The scribe is clinical documentation software — it drafts notes for your review. It is not intended to diagnose or replace clinical judgement. Ask Oli is clinician-facing support with a published basis that you apply; answers are not written into the note. We do not claim TGA approval or registration. Legal classification per market is subject to ongoing review.
Ask Oli is optional lookup, not the scribe. Claude distills a de-identified topic from your question. Perplexity searches published sources and synthesises the answer. Identifiers are not sent. You get citations and concrete steps to check — not a diagnosis, and not text pasted into the note. We do not claim TGA approval. You can keep a tracing or document beside the answer on this device; it is not uploaded. See How Ask Oli works.
Reflect is a Plus–Delta check against published sources for topics already in your draft. Plus lists documented items that match cited considerations; Delta lists other items those sources commonly cover, for you to accept or dismiss. It does not score your plan, catch what you missed, or write into the note. You remain solely responsible. If you want the check in your CPD record, add your own short note on what it adds to your practice — Intelligent Consult is not an accredited CPD provider.
No. Never claim to catch what you missed or influence diagnosis. OLI documents what was said; it does not audit your clinical reasoning.
Yes — doctors in training are a named market. The draft is a starting point you must own. If you copy it unchanged, you are not training. Reflect checks the draft against published sources and does not write into the note. Hours on the CPD record exist only after you write a reflection. We do not claim this teaches clinical writing. There is a verified Doctor in Training plan.
Yes. Switch to non-clinical ("Meeting & other") mode for meetings, handovers, interviews, teaching sessions, and similar conversations — no practitioner declaration required. OLI drafts the same way; you review and finalise.
Recording
The desktop app (Mac or Windows) is home for listen — in the room and on a call. If you use the browser, choose Chrome or Edge on a computer and share the call tab with audio on. Safari and Firefox stay mic-only. On a phone browser, keep the screen on — sleep stops the microphone. The Android app keeps listening if the screen sleeps. Prefer desktop to review; the browser is the console when you cannot install.
Use the desktop app and choose Mic + call audio — it captures your mic and the call automatically, never video. The browser is the fallback: Chrome or Edge if you share the call tab and turn on audio sharing. Phone and watch are mic-only and do not capture other-app call audio. Prefer desktop to review; use the web console when you cannot install.
Yes — mic-only with the phone on speaker. On Android, the phone app is better than the browser because it keeps recording if the screen sleeps. Open the draft later on desktop — or in the web console if you cannot install — to review and finalise.
Intelligent Consult supports in-person, video telehealth, and phone consultations, and dictation after the visit. For video calls we capture mic and call audio only — never video. Choose a template that fits the encounter, then use the same draft, review, and finalise workflow.
Upload continues through brief connection interruptions. Keep the session open until its upload status confirms that recording is complete.
Notes
Every note is a draft for your review. You are the author of the document.
Type a plain-English instruction (e.g. expand the plan) and OLI produces a new draft version for you to review. You can revise multiple times while the note is a draft. If the instruction is ambiguous, OLI may ask a short clarifying round before rewriting.
When you have reviewed every section and are satisfied the note accurately reflects the consult. Finalised notes are locked from further chat-revise.
No connection is required. When you are satisfied, copy the finished note into the clinical system you already use.
Claude writes the consult draft. If Claude is unavailable, OpenAI may write that draft. Ask Oli is different: Claude distills a de-identified topic, then Perplexity searches and synthesises the answer. Every note remains a draft for your review — you are the author of the document.
Templates
Built-in templates (58) cover common consult types across GP, specialty, allied health, meetings, and interviews. Custom templates let you define your own sections. Tell OLI lets you describe a template in plain English and approve OLI's proposal.
Ask at most two or three clarifying questions, and only when the answer genuinely changes the template. When a sensible default exists, use it instead of asking. Then OLI proposes a template structure. Always propose changes for the clinician to approve. Never apply a change silently.
No. Templates that ask the model to identify missed diagnoses or provide clinical decision support are blocked.
Pricing
Free for everyday use — up to 8 sessions a day. 60 sessions per month on free. Mic + call audio, templates, and Ask Oli are included on every live plan, including Free. Ask Oli looks up published criteria you apply — it is not a diagnosis, and answers are not written into the note. We do not claim TGA approval.
If you hit a session limit mid-consult, your recording is kept. Upgrade, then continue the draft — nothing is discarded.
Mic + call audio is included on every live plan. The desktop app is home. Chrome or Edge is the browser fallback if you share the call tab.
The Doctor in Training plan is for eligible trainees and requires document verification. Provisional access may apply while verification is pending.
Privacy and compliance
No. Help chat is for product questions only. Describe issues in general terms without patient-identifiable information.
General evidence and guidelines, not patient-specific advice. Always apply your own clinical judgement. Ask Oli sits in the same workspace: published guidance, dosing where allowed, handouts, and referrals. Answers stay out of the note.
No. It is a statement of participation, not a certificate of completion. Intelligent Consult is not an accredited CPD provider. Hours count only after a written reflection. Viewing time is measured and you can change it. The name and registration on the statement are as you entered them. You remain responsible for claiming hours with your own CPD home.
Start anywhere. Same scribe. Emerging-market pricing is available where you practise. Consent copy follows the country you choose at signup. A developing-nations Clinician price is listed for everyone; checkout is only for clinicians who practise in an eligible country and connect from there — the same product.
Intelligent Consult is built to align with the Australian Privacy Principles and GDPR — including when speech-to-text or drafting runs on a contracted provider outside your country. That is a self-declared design posture, not a government approval or third-party certificate. We do not claim HIPAA compliance or certification. AHPRA regulates practitioners, not software — we support clinicians with consent scripts and draft-for-review documentation workflows, but we are not “AHPRA approved” or “AHPRA compliant.” See our Security overview and Privacy policy for detail.
Primary application and database hosting for Intelligent Consult is in AWS Sydney. Audio and files are stored on Cloudflare R2 Oceania (Australia). Speech-to-text and AI drafting may process audio or text on provider infrastructure outside your country, under those providers’ contractual terms. We do not claim that patient data stays only in Australia. APP and GDPR alignment is a design posture for the whole product, including those overseas steps — see the Security overview. We do not claim HIPAA compliance.
Patients do not hold accounts. Intelligent Consult does not operate a patient database or medical record. Take every reasonable precaution not to capture patient-identifiable details in the recording — names, dates of birth, addresses, record numbers. Copy the finished note into the clinical system you already use. Audio is deleted by default after 7 days. Transcripts and notes follow the organisation’s note window (default 30 days after you finalise), then the clinical session is hard-deleted. If identifiers are spoken anyway, they may still be in that session until those jobs run. See the Security overview.
We do not use your consult audio, transcripts, or notes to train third-party foundation models. Where we improve the platform beyond your own account, we use de-identified or aggregate information only. See the Privacy Policy and Security overview.
