Your first consult
Do this on desktop — the Mac or Windows app. Phone is the next-best recorder in the room. Watch can record from the wrist. If a clinic PC cannot install the app, the browser is the fallback console. Every draft lands in the same account: prefer desktop to review and finalise; use the web console when that is your computer.

1. New consult
On the Mac or Windows app, go to New consult. Choose clinical or non-clinical. Select a template — last-used is remembered per mode.
If you are already in the room, you can start the same session from the phone instead. Watch starts recording only; you still open the session on desktop (or in the browser) afterwards. Device install is in Desktop, phone, and watch setup.
2. Consent
If your jurisdiction requires it, read the patient script shown before Transcribe. Pressing Transcribe logs your attestation — on desktop, phone, or watch.

3. Record
Desktop (home base). Mic in the room for face-to-face, or Mic + call audio for telehealth — no tab-share dance. We capture audio only — never video. Or dictate the note yourself after the visit. Both are intended.
Phone (second). Mic-only: in the room, or the phone on speaker. It cannot capture Zoom or Teams from another app. Keep the app open.
Watch (third — recorder only). Mic-only from the wrist after pairing. Do not review or finalise on the watch.
When you stop, processing takes a few minutes. The draft is waiting in the same account on desktop and in the web console.
4. Review on desktop
Open the session on desktop. Use the Consult tab to read each section. Ask OLI to revise with a plain-English instruction if needed. See Review the draft.
You can glance at the draft on the phone. Length, chat-revise, Copy note, Ask Oli, and For the patient are built for the computer workspace. If you cannot install the app, do that work in the browser.
5. Finalise
Nothing is final until you finalise. Prefer desktop. If you cannot install, the browser is the computer. Review every section — OLI drafts; you author.
